The Rangiora Community Boards purpose is to represent, and act as an advocate for the interests of its community on a local level - within the Rangiora/Ashley Ward.

The Board is also responsible for the areas delegated to it by the Council, some of which include: Taking an overview of the Council’s services and projects affecting the ward including: water supply, sewerage, storm water drainage, parks, recreational facilities, community activities and roading and traffic management projects.

The Rangiora Community Board is not the Council nor is it a committee of the Council. The Board works collectively with the Council to achieve community goals.

I seek re-election to the Rangiora - Ashley Community Board.

Totally Committed to Rangiora!

I am Totally Committed to Rangiora and to its people.

If re-elected to the Community Board my focus will remain on issues important to the Rangiora Ward including; Parking, the CBD, High Street revitalisation, our Dog Parks, Traffic Safety, Parks and Reserves and on ensuring Rangiora’s developments move towards completion.

Rangiora born and educated, I lived here for some 40 years owning three Rangiora businesses then a Mitre10 in Christchurch before consulting throughout N.Z. as a Retail Consultant in Sales, Marketing and Service.

Returning to Rangiora in 2002 I became involved with The Rangiora Community Board our Museum, Presbyterian Support, Meals-on-Wheels, GreyPower and other organisations.

Representing and acting as a advocate for the interests of our community, my main aim is to keep us moving forward, cost effectively, towards a revitalised Rangiora.

If re-elected I see my role as ...

  • Representing and acting as an advocate in the interests of our community.
  • Considering and reporting on all matters referred to us by the council, or any matters of interest or concern to the community board.
  • Communicating with community organisations and special-interest groups in the community.
  • Bringing the views of their community to the attention of council.
  • Listening to the concerns of their community on issues pertaining to the community board.
  • Maintaining an overview of services provided by the council in the community, and commenting on any services delivered by it.
  • Maintaining contact with various community representatives and other local stakeholders.
  • Championing causes which best relate to the interests of their community and campaigning for the improvement of the quality of life in their community.
