Projects: My Commitment is to Rangiora

Given the increasing pressure Car Parking is a fact our Council must address. Whether or not it is the projected Parking Building in Blake Street, or Council developing suitably located properties, Car Parking must be addressed.
I believe the easier we make parking for Shoppers, Visitors and Staff the more successful the CBD and Our Town will be.

Part of my brief on the Community Board has been representing it in the development of the River Road/Millton Avenue Dog Park. A project close to my heart, that, along with the Southbrook Dog Park, it is now providing enjoyment, exercise and camaraderie for our dogs and their owners.
I estimate that some 80+ owners and 100+ dogs already visit the Millton Memorial Park each day.

Roundabouts have been one of my targets and after Queen St, High St, South Belt, East belt, West Belt and now Good St we are well served these roads are safer and there is improved traffic flow.

I support the Rangiora Museum/The Rangiora Early Records Society and have been associated in many of its activities not the least of which was the ‘Old Time Film Show’ we held at the High school.
Presently I am working on two videos which will record parts of the history of Rangiora for future generations.

The traffic holdups for people travelling to and from Christchurch etc. must be addressed in both the immediate and long term.
We need to ensure that future generations are able to travel to Christchurch and other destinations easily and without excessive holdups.
As part of this I hope that the WDC is able to consider the proposed road link between Lineside Road and Kippenberger Avenue/Coldstream Road in the very near future.

The recently completed Rangiora Health Hub is a major benefit to the Rangiora Area and, hopefully, the Meals on Wheels service, originating from it, will continue and provide meals to our citizens in need.

As Rangiora becomes a modern, vibrant town, with a two-way High Street and new developments in Rangiora and Southbrook I am supportive of any decision that the Rangiora Community Board and the WDC make that improves the business areas for our Customers and for our Businesses.
